Remember those guys in 1999 who gave away personal computers to promote their portal?

So I ran across a good smart Salon article by one Amol Sarva, "a member of the philosophy department at Stanford University".

So I happened to mouse over that author's name, noticed his cool e-mail address, and instantly stalked his domain name.

What a find! Sarva uses the site to give away his own rollicking story of Gobi — a story rather frankly focused on his former friends' worst habits, mistakes and failures. The writing is splendidly witty, and there is little pretension of objectivity.

Sarva was a dangerous guy to trust. You might want to watch out for him!
