Way #372 in which Objectivists sometimes scare:

"This year the adolescents learned the time value of money and when they discovered the difference between starting to save $2000 per year at the age of 12 and then at the age of 16, the older campers did a lot of groaning - they recognized lost opportunity and didn't want to squander the opportunity for future riches."

I do not mean to overstate the subcultural significance of this Rand Camp. Objectivism as a philosophy or movement is not wedded to obsessive paleoproductivity or to dying with a lot of money or even to child labor.

The whole idea of a summer training ground for tots IS a little strange coming from people who argue whether 'helping is futile'. :)
