Webby Awards

fine and quick wrap-up that inspired me to watch the first half-hour of the broadcast earlier

...I'm consistently amazed at how bad the presentations & speech-reading are at award shows. It's understandable that web personalities feel a little overwhelmed on stage, but what's the deal with famous actors and actresses looking so bad at their own award shows?! The live format partially explains it...but contrast the polished confidence in "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" or even "Inside the Actors' Studio"! Is there somehow more pressure at an awards show? I would think there'd be less.

Maybe the nervousness stems from the verbatim & unnatural scripts they're told to read.
