Jaffo announces *love*. Mine, that is!!

Taking his own situation (as he describes it) into account, Michael/Jaffo is impressively supportive of his friends.

My life pace is accelerating right now. Work becomes infinitely busier next week. In-person girl focus is on the near horizon.

When I don't have time to talk at length with friends, I'll write Michael a strong letter of recommendation--as I've always told him I would! Friends who quote Cake are just too cool. (Even if it IS just a Willie Nelson cover.)

Restraining myself from quoting a Pixies' Neil Young cover today, I will instead observe that the Pixies are most mainstream-famous for one song on each of two movie soundtracks: _Fight Club_ (1999) and _Pump Up The Volume_ (1990). Each was a hardcore 'rebel' charismatic leader film for its time! More, note the songs' similar lyrical invocations of wild insanity:

_Fight Club_ Pixies ("Where Is My Mind?"):

" With your feet on the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse if there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself
Where is my mind? Where is my mind? Where is my mind?"

_Pump Up The Volume_ Pixies ("Wave of Mutilation"):

" cease to resist, giving my goodbye
drive my car into the ocean
you'll think i'm dead, but i sail away
on a wave of mutilation
a wave
wave"
